Castle of Lavaux-Sainte-Anne
The Rochefort area in the province of Namur is not only known for its breath-taking nature, but also for its many castles. Come have a look at one of the greatest Belgian castles in Lavaux-Sainte-Anne. This impressive building brings the feudal life of the 17th and 18th century very close.
It was built in the 13th century with a defensive purpose. Nowadays it is home to three museums. One of them is the Nature Museum, just recently renovated, in one of the many rooms inside the castle, where a collection of animals is shown.
Then there is the museum of country life in Famenne, which gives insight in how most people used to live centuries ago.
The Humid Zone takes you on an entertaining and didactic trip through the wetland, where visitors can be amazed by animal life and all kinds of flowers and plants typical for the Famenne in the Belgian Ardennes.
Complete your stay and book a holiday home with Ardennes-Etape in order to explore the Rochefort area to the fullest.
