House of the Land of Salm
The House of the Land of Salm is an interactive museum definitely worth a visit when staying in the Vielsalm and Gouvy area. Children from age eight and up are more than welcome. Children, teenagers and adults will be amazed by the history, folklore and the legends of this valley;
After an exciting introductory film you will make a journey through different galleries telling you the geological story of the region. You will learn about the different stone types that have existed in the Land of Salm during the last 450 million years.
Next stop is the screening room, where the dark atmosphere and the stories told by narrator William will make everyone shiver. You will get to know the history of Vielsalm through facts and anecdotes.
You will find lots of information on the soil resources of Vielsalm and on the industrial development that followed. Pictures, texts and tools are the key elements of the presentation. The original stage setting and the narrator’s stories create an interesting experience for visitors of all ages.
