Maredsous Abbey
The Maredsous Abbey is a superb Neo-Gothic building, founded in 1872 by the monks of the Benedictine order. The beautiful surrounding Molignée-valley makes for an inviting hiking location.
The monks of the Maredsous Abbey give everyone a warm welcome and explain their way of life and their spirituality. They are a link between tradition and the modern world. Take advantage of the peaceful environment to recharge your batteries, tour the abbey, enjoy a family day out or try the abbey's gastronomic specialties: beer and cheese.
Complete your stay in the Belgian Ardennes and book a holiday cottage with Ardennes-Etape to explore the Maredsous Abbey and its surrounding area to the fullest.
Something to eat
Try the Maredsous beer accompanied by delicious hunks of bread and Maredsous cheese. You can try meals prepared using local products on the terrace, close to the play area (group bookings possible).
Audiovisual
A 20-minute film in French and Dutch is shown (free of charge) on request. It shows and explains the monks' life and the history of Maredsous and Saint Benedict.
