Amel is a small place in the Belgian East Cantons, an ideal region for hikes and biking trips. This part of the Belgian Ardennes – more specifically the Belgian Eifel – is surrounded by the most impressive pine tree forests. Driving less than an hour you can reach Malmedy, one of the nicest cities in the Belgian Ardennes. To get to Bastogne from your holiday home in Amel you will need just over an hour.
Ondenval is a place in the municipality of Waimes in the East Cantons. On the Waimes territory (Dutch: Weismes) you will find the Signal de Botrange, with 694 metres the highest point in the country. The region, close to the High Fens nature park, is perfect for a great hike, summer or winter. For a visit to a delightful city in the region we can recommend Malmedy, one of the most charming spots in the Belgian Ardennes.
Thirimont is a quiet little place in Waimes, at the edge of the High Fens in the Belgian East Cantons. The village offers – at an altitude of around 500 metres – a great view over the valley of the river Amblève. It is the perfect location for a hike through the Ardennes. By car you need only 15 minutes to get to Malmedy, one of the most beautiful cities in the Belgian Ardennes. St. Vith is less than half an hour away.

Baugnez 44 Historical Center tells us the history of the Ardennes region. The museum was founded to commemorate the 84 Americans whom were killed in Malmedy. A collection of small stories and reconstructed scenes, with personal belongings of the owner, absolutely worth having a look at. |

The Robertville Lake is located a few kilometres from Waimes and offers a lot of leisure possibilities: swimming, rowing, tennis, fishing, hiking,… All is possible. There are also guided visits to the outside of the dam. |
