Museum of the Water Town and Spa Horse Museum
The museums of the City of Waters evoke four centuries of the history of Spa, from the birth of hydrotherapy, to the beautiful arts and crafts, and not to mention the presence of Queen Marie-Henriette from 1895 to 1902.
Museum of the City of Water
Spa Story, a story that flows naturally.
Spa is nowadays a common name, synonymous with a well-being area where water has the key role.
Why and how did this small town, unknown before the 16th century, acquire this international reputation and can it claim the UNESCO label today? It’s an exciting story!
Mineral water, gambling games, illustrious bobelins and the unique collection of wood paintings (les jolités de Spa) intermingle to evoke the many particularities of this story, which flows naturally … this "Spa Story".
The museum of the horse
Finally, in the former stables of Queen Marie-Henriette and nestled in the garden of the Royal Villa, a site that has been classified since 1972, the Museum of the Horse traces the history of the horse in Spa.
You will also find a smithy, a saddlery and various objects entirely devoted to "the noblest conquest of man".
For the youngest there is a discovery game in the different sections of the museum.
The group tours in French, Dutch and English are upon prior request.
Do not hesitate and push the door!
