Topiary Park

The Durbuy Topiary Park of Durbuy is probably one of the biggest in the world! It entails about 10.000m² and disposes of more than 250 plants and sculptures, a truly unique collection in Europe.

Albert Navez is the man responsible for the art that exists for 95% out of buxus. The oldest bush is already 120 years old but is still looking fresh and green. Topiary requires a lot of patience, but fills you with joy once you can shape the bush into a large, beautiful and prestigious piece after the long wait. The imposing elephant of 4 meters high has been cut out of a tree that is not less than 80 years old. Also Yves Saint Laurent has placed a special order. You will find the buxus with its famous initials in the park.

The garden is now property of the Durbuy community. The artist, Albert Navez has made way for a regional gardener who looks after the maintenance of the sculptures. If you would like to witness the trimming, visit the park on a Tuesday from April to October. It is a show filled with fun for kids!

The Topiary Park is just one of the many sites worth visiting in Durbuy. Book a holiday cottage with Ardennes-Etape and discover the other attractions!
