Abbaye de Maredsous

In 1872, the Maredsous Abbey was built by monks of the Benedictine order in a Neo-Gothic style, in the valley of the river Molignée. It makes a great departure point for many hikes through this beautiful region.

The monks of the Maredsous Abbey give everyone a warm welcome and explain their way of life and their spirituality. They are a link between tradition and the modern world. Take advantage of the peaceful environment to recharge your batteries, tour the abbey, enjoy a family day out or try the abbey's gastronomic specialties: beer and cheese.

The Maredsous Abbey is a superb Neo-Gothic building, founded in 1872 by the monks of the Benedictine order. The beautiful surrounding Molignée-valley makes for an inviting hiking location.

Something to eat
Try the Maredsous beer accompanied by delicious chunks of bread and Maredsous cheese. You can try meals prepared using local products in the restauration area of which the terrace is located near the playground. Group bookings are possible.

Guided tour in French and in Dutch
During the Easter, summer and Christmas holidays: daily at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

For the rest of the year, on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays: at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Outside of these periods and hour schedules, only upon reservation.
